Older Adults Technology Services (OATS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in New York City and subsidiary of AARP, was looking to redesign their website. Since the site was established five years prior, OATS had seen unprecedented growth and the version of OATS.org no longer reflected the organization’s activities or goals, visual identity or ethos.
Herospace worked closely with the Executive Director and Director of Communications to ensure the messaging was on brand.
The team wanted the website to reflect the belief and mission of OATS and AARP. To help accomplish this, we incorporated original photography and a section dedicated to client projects. Because the audience was primarily corporations, nonprofits and government entities we incorporated proof that the program works via reports, thought leadership and recognition that credentials the program.
The older adults, aged 60 and older, are served primarily through www.seniorplanet.org However, it was important that www.oats.org and www.seniorplanet.org have some interplay and that it becomes clear that Senior Planet is the flagship program of OATS, this is also reflected in the design.
Herospace and the OATS team created a website that is cohesive and easy to navigate. Through imagery, user experience design and messaging we helped to showcase OATS’ belief in the limitless potential of older adults to change their lives and communities. We also delivered an easy to update platform that the team at OATS can manage and update on their own.
