The Collaborative Coalition On Domestic Violence for the city of San Antonio was in need of a digital resource where survivors of domestic violence could access resources. The second objective of the project was to provide an online resource for professionals helping survivors of domestic violence as well as educating family and friends of people in abusive relationships. The committee wanted to create an online presence that conveyed feelings of hope and optimism while addressing a serious and sad situation. There were also technical requirements that the website must meet: a panic escape that let users quickly exit the site and hinder the back button from re-accessing the site be ADA compliant have an option to translate from English to Spanish In addition to the project requirements the team was on a tight deadline (4-6 weeks) to ensure the project received adequate funding.
We worked closely with 3 representatives from the CCDV (including the Project Manager) to streamline and expedite the process.
We used the existing CCDV logo to inform colors and fonts for the website. Due to the sensitive subject matter, the client provided the content and employing user experience design principles we optimized the content for the web.
Through the navigation the website has clear funnels for the several audience types. Using the secondary colors from the branding and images that convey family, friendship and confidence we were able to accomplish the desired aesthetic.
The CCDV launched their website within the necessary timeline.
