Bringing San Antonio’s startup week to life through a unique website

San Antonio Startup Week is a premier open-to-the-public tech and entrepreneurship event in San Antonio, Texas. The organization that runs the local event and manages the website (80/20 Foundation) was wanting a website with a more modern, fresh, exciting aesthetic. The 80/20 Foundation also wanted a website with an easier to manage and flexible content management system. San Antonio Startup Week was directing attendees to download the Whova app to view the schedule, sign up for sessions and connect with other attendees and wished to remain on that platform

We found design inspiration after a couple of brainstorming sessions with the event organizers and listening to their vision. We shifted the color scheme from the orange used by Techstars Startup Programs to a more invigorating and distinctive pink and purple.

To accommodate the client’s request for a more flexible and intuitive admin back-end, we developed the website using WordPress.

We were able to integrate the event sessions schedule with Whova to present a seamless user experience on the sasw.co schedule page. Using UX best principles we strategically positioned and designed clear call outs to download app and directions on how to.

Herospace designed and developed a vibrant minimalist and dynamic website that has microinteractions to keep the user engaged and let them know they are on the right path.
